George Floyd Street Art Gallery

Who is George Floyd?

George Floyd was killed by Minneapolis, Minnesota, Police Officers on May 25, 2020, when the officers forced him face down on the ground while he was handcuffed and no threat to anyone, then officer Derek Chauvin jammed his knee into Mr. Floyd’s neck, and officers Chauvin, Lane, and Kueng put their weight on his back, asphyxiating him to death.  The police department’s policies allowed officers to use their legs to restrain people by the neck, which is unconstitutional.  Worldwide protests have spawned police reforms, including ending chokehold and neck restraint policies around the country.  George Floyd’s daughter Gianna was right – her Daddy changed the world.

We hope this gallery of street art and murals dedicated to George Floyd helps spread a message of positive change.
