Mario Gonzalez Street Art Gallery

Mario Gonzalez was a 26-year-old Latino man killed by Alameda, California, police officers on April 19, 2021, while he was unarmed, minding his own business, and no threat to anyone.  The officers forced Mario face-down on the ground, putting their weight on him for over five minutes, even after he was handcuffed, until he died.  Mario died from restraint asphyxia.  Mario was the loving and supportive father of a 4-year-old son, Mario Gonzalez-Cortez.  We hope this gallery of street art and murals dedicated to Mario Gonzalez helps spread a message of positive change.
